Meeting Minutes- July 11,2022

  1. Call to order at 7:05pm
  2. Attendance: Allison and Earl Bainbridge, Kim and Tracy Stringfellow, Shirley Vogel, Chrissi Kirkland, Lindsey Anderson, April Maldonado, Brad Boyd, Adam Calderone.

  1. Treasurer’s report-
    1. Checking- $22,870.77. We have $3,016 in sponsorship checks to be deposited this week.
    2. Savings- $4,604.45
    3. Petty cash- $100.00
    4. Scholarships will be provided to Kason Major and Landon Anderson for $100/ea. for their participation in the Oil Bowl in June.

 

  1. Old Business
    1. Merchandise- Chrissi is working with Sign On for this season’s designs. 2 t-shirt designs that received the most votes were submitted to Sign On.  Hat inventory will be assessed to see if more need to be ordered.  The black hoodie from last year will be reordered this year.
    2. Fundraisers- no update
    3. Home game programs-
      1. Parent ads- will be sent out next week to the various student groups.
    4. Bleacher Creatures- Open houses will be in early August at the elementary schools. Will consider having booster members present to promote booster participation as well as bleacher creatures.
    5. Meet the Dog- Aug. 13th at 7pm-
      1. First Burk cooking team will cook food for us. Hot dogs, chips, and water will be provided to the community.
      2. Fliers will be distributed within the next week.
    6. Gator maintenance- Earl will ensure this is done before the start of the season.

 

6. New Business-

    1. Varsity pictures will be done on Aug 6th following the scrimmage.

 

7. Open Discussion:

    1. Leadership field trip discussed for varsity players. Adam Calderone has offered to facilitate a trip to Ft Sill to provide varsity players with a leadership experience.  He will work with Coach Boyd on setting up a date.  Suggested dates were July 29 or August 19 with players leaving at 0800 and returning before 1700.
      1. Also suggested to invite the Commanding General from Ft Sill to a varsity game as an honorary captain as a show of appreciation for opening the base to our players.
      2. This is also a potential media event for Ft Sill.
      3. Players will eat on the base.
      4. Any financial support needed for the trip will be provided by the Boosters.
      5. Coach Boyd will work on securing buses for the trip.

 

  1. Coach’s report
    1. Parent meeting is tentatively planned for July 28th
    2. Inter squad scrimmage will be on August 6th. Following the scrimmage will be the call-a-thon fundraiser coordinated by the football program (non-Booster fundraiser).  Boosters will provide a lunch. Varsity pictures will be done following the call-a-thon.
    3. Football coaching staff if now full for this season.
    4. Summer Pride has not had good participation. Varsity numbers have not been bad, but the sub varsity numbers are small.
    5. Helmet sticker ceremony will be on August 22.
