Meeting Minutes- September 7, 2020

  1. Call to order-7:00pm
  2. Attendance- Kim/Tracy Stringfellow, Sharon Brown, Kristi Miller, Ranette Downey, Tonia Boyett, Jaclyn/Jason Meng, Rusty Blanton, Craig Die, Shirley Vogel, Keith McClure
  3. Previous meetings’ minutes- on the website
  4. Treasurer’s report:   Checking: $11,612.90         Savings- $4,599.48
    1. Income- $#342 in cash and $562.50 from cards
    2. Expenditures- $809-tshirts, $296-magnets, $561-banners/scoreboards, $454-yards signs/ spirit flags
    3. Petty Cash- $125
    4. Gift Card- $106
    5. PayPal- $963.79 on hold
  5. Old Business
    1. Merchandise-
      1. Sold quite a bit of inventory.  Trailer is down many t-shirts.  Will look at reordering if needed after next game.  Still waiting on hats.  There were some at printers-will check on those.  Some were on backorder and decided not to do those since they would not be here until November. 
    2. Fundraising for the 2020 season-
      1. Corn Hole- We were told we can not do a raffle.  But we have over $500 right now.  Kim will check on the raffle issue.  Will draw winner at Helmet Sticker Ceremony Monday Sept. 14th @ 7pm.
      2. Clay Shoot- Date is set for April 10th in spring. 
      3. Kick a Field Goal and win a truck- no truck sales.  Ranette will look to see about moving truck to a better location.  May have better luck at Memorial Stadium next week.
      4. Sign and Drive- 3 dates were given to Jeff (Sept. 5 and 12 or Oct. 24).  Jeff is waiting to hear back from Ford. 
    3. Military honor wall update- Tabled pending graphics.
    4. Sponsors- Nothing new 
    5. Programs- We sold out Friday night.  Some parents said their ads were missing.  Ranette will check on this.  So far only 1 ad was found to be missing and was corrected.
    6. Volunteer review-
      1. Team breakfast-Good on many items-need more bacon this week.
      2. Game day-covered this week
      3. Coaches lunch-off this week
    7. Spike deflator- The deflator is too short. Blower is good. Will exchange the deflator.
    8. Sound System- Will not need it at the game this week.
    9. Golf Cart maintenance- will need a new choke cable on it before we pack up for season.
  6. New Business- none
  7. Open Discussion-
    1. Snack-have enough for this week.  Will hand out at breakfast on Friday.
    2. Bandanas-2 different colors will be used for camo week due to an ordering issue.  Kim is making it work. 😊
  8. Coach Meng’s report-
    1. Had a solid practice considering it was a holiday.  Some players were out.
    2. Moved some guys around defensively.
    3. Addressed all mistakes with the players and are moving on to a new week.
    4. Freshman did a great job against Jacksboro and won 15-14.
    5. Watched offensive and defensive clips from HUDL of Canyon game.
    6. Also watched clips from HUDL of Iowa Park’s plays that we may see in game.
    7. Tickets will be available online through WFISD. 
    8. This week’s games:
      1. Freshman and JV is away at Iowa Park at 5pm/7pm.
      2. Varsity is home vs. Iowa Park at Memorial Stadium Friday at 7pm.
  9. Next booster club meeting- Monday, Sept. 21 at 7:00pm in High school Cafeteria.
  10. Adjourn at 7:45pm.
