Old Business
Merchandise- Oil derek hats (24 black, twenty-four white) ordered through BSN like the coaches hats. Seat cushions being investigated through Gimmees website and Sign On. Fifteen blankets will be ordered through Electra Embroidery, Iowa Park game shirt will be picked up by Chrissi on Thursday and made available to those who ordered at the merchandise trailer. Special arrangements can be made as needed. Varsity players had their shirts ordered for them by the Boosters. If any parent ordered one for a varsity player, the Boosters could help resale since we know some parents did not order by the deadline but wanted a shirt.
Varsity leadership retreat to Ft Sill
Date- September 26th– 0800 departure and return prior to eighth period.
MREs will be the lunch plans. Approx. $9/meal which is a bit more than the dining facility but will be a better experience for the players.
Friendship Festival- October 1- fees paid.
New Business
Game day:
Spike- parent volunteers in place. Fire Extinguishers will be picked up by Vogel’s.
Horn- remote control batteries need replaced. Kim will pick up.
Bleacher Creatures- Jodi Lapham will oversee students this week. Will ask announcer to have BCs report to the end of the field about 15 minutes before running out.
Merchandise trailer- Kristi and Chrissi will staff it.
Programs- NHS student volunteers will be coordinated by Allyson Baughman.
Team Dinner- sign up posted on Facebook and emailed to parents. Earl will reach out to the Redneck cooking team about a dinner date. Adam will reach out to First Burk. Kristi will reach out to Whataburger. Chrissi will put out the sign ups for the rest of the season so parents can sign up in advance.
Coaches Lunch- Jodi Lapham is confirmed for this Saturday at noon.
Locker rooms
JV- sign up posted. Will be moving set up time to 7pm so JV players our out of the building before snacks are set up.
Varsity- sign up posted. An empty basket will be set up in the locker room for their snack buckets to help keep up with them.
BMS and JV team meals
We plan on providing Chick Fil A to the 7A and B teams on Oct 25th following each of their games.
Chick Fil A will be provided to the 8A and B teams on Oct 20th following their games.
JV will be provided with pizza following their games on Oct 6th.
Kim will notify each of their coaches and get total number of players and coaches to feed for each of the groups.
Open Discussion
Suggestion to get football and oil derek jibbitz. Will evaluate cost.
Discussed players walking though the stands before the start of the game. Several players and parents have asked about it. Will ask Coach Boyd about options.
Ranette would like to put homecoming court on the front of the homecoming program. Kim will reach out to Erin Henson about getting their pictures early enough for the printing deadline.
Framed team pictures with the matte signed by the varsity players is done and ready to be delivered to the dentist who provided free mouth pieces to our players. Some of the players will a free 1st hour will deliver it.
Coach’s report-(Coach String)
Players continue to improve. JVs teams played well. Varsity started off flat in Krum but kicked it in about the fourth quarter. Coaches looking at strategies to get the players motivated before game time. Clock management opportunities also discussed. This week’s practices have been positive. Players are working hard and showing drive and determination to keep getting better. Confidence levels are improving.
