Meeting Minutes- May 9,2022

  1. Called to order at 7pm
  2. Attendance: Kim and Tracy Stringfellow, Earl and Allison Bainbridge, Leslie and Brad Boyd, Kristi Miller, Shirley Vogel.

  1. Treasurer’s report-
    1. Checking- $23,008.56
    2. Savings – $4,603.51

 

  1. Old Business
    1. Merchandise-
      1. link will be sent by Kristi to committee members. She is asking for everyone to vote on desired designs. Will plan on submitted to Sign On in June in preparation for stocking merchandise trailer by August.
    2. Spring fundraisers:
      1. 7 on 7 middle school tournament- no teams have signed up yet. Flier was sent via social media and Coach Boyd send via email to coaches in the area. He will also send out to the regional Sports You group.  Booster members are asked to also share flier.  Kristi will post in the counselors office at BMS also.
      2. Waiver- SQT waiver was modified to fit our event. Copies emailed to Booster participants.  No changes were recommended.
      3. Draft Rules- SQT rules were modified to fit our fundraiser. Copies were emailed to Booster participants.  No changes were recommended.
      4. Sponsorship- We currently have 2 sponsor- First Bank and ACE Hardware.
      5. Concessions- First Burk men’s cooking group will cook food for concessions. We will also ask for volunteers to sell water/Gatorade during the event.   Kim will each out to Boomtown SnoBall to see if they would like to set up as well.
      6. Winners will receive a custom ring. It will say “Football Champions” on the ring.  The largest size ring will be purchased.  Minimum order required is 50. We will purchase 60 to cover the 30 needed for this year (10-person team/3 teams-one in each division) and next year to save on set up fees.
    3. Oil Bowl ad-
      1. ad and ad agreement submitted to Maskat Shrine for ½ page ad. Cost- $200.00
    4. Home game programs- Sponsorship packet sent out to last years donors.
    5. Meet the Dog- Aug. 13th at 7pm- First Burk men’s cooking team is interested in cooking for the event. Boosters will purchase the food and they will cook it.
    6. Gator maintenance- Earl will get this done within the next 2 weeks

 

  1. New Business-
    1. First Burk men’s cooking team is willing to cook for a variety of events with the Boosters. In addition to those already mentioned, they would like to also help with a team dinner.
    2. Red Neck Culinary voiced interest in supporting our events. They are willing to help at the 7 on 7 event and for any other fundraiser or team dinner needed.  Earl will keep in touch with them on opportunities as they arise.

 

  1. Open Discussion-
    1. Coach Thetford requested Spike for the John Tower field day at the end of May. He has done this every year for several year.  He will pick up and provide manpower to handle Spike.  No opposition voiced.

 

  1. Coach’s report
    1. 7 on 7 will be starting soon.
    2. Incoming 7th, 9th, and 11th graders need physicals. Fliers for free physicals distributed, which are on May 12 and May 21.
